So, yesterday afternoon was the preview of the joint Society of Scottish Artists and Visual Arts Scotland Open at the Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh. A wonderful exhibition, so much great work, of all types. It really is a must see if you are going to be in Edinburgh before the 8th March.
It’s really not fair to pick out favourites, as there is just so much amazing work… but I just love Bronwen Sleigh’s and Fiona Watson Art etchings… and then there’s Andrew Mackenzie and James Lumsden paintings, Amanda Baron’s glass work, Ffion Bletch, William Braithwaite and Felicity Bristow’s pieces and oh so many more… and I would list them all, but the names escape me at the moment…
..and photography – Mark Osbourne, Adam Fowler, John Maher. Alex Boyd, Emily Inglis…
So yes, I have a couple of works here and very proud to have been selected, but do go to see everything else…
Oh, then there’s the installations – Tim Taylor’s homage to the Becker’s and Rebeca Heselton’s Floating Villages…
.. get the picture…
